As the specialty chemical industry has gradually matured, competition has increased, and the global economy has slowed, the challenge of achieving growth and maintaining strong profitability has become an increasing challenge. This challenge is faced by all chemical companies, but it has been particularly pronounced in specialty chemicals because natural growth and profitability was considerably higher 20 and 30 years ago. Ms. Noonan and Mr. Vogelsberg will share with us their experiences and strategic thinking on this vital issue from their respective viewpoints. Ms. Noonan has decades of experience successfully managing specialty chemical businesses and will share with us her view of the problem and some of the solutions that she has implemented at Chemtura and OMNOVA Solutions. Mr. Vogelsberg, as a senior member of a leading chemical consulting firm, will share the lessons that he and his firm have gleaned from client work they have successfully developed and implemented.
