Jay Bhatia is the Founder and CEO of Agilis Commerce, the leading provider of digital commerce solutions for the chemical industry, based in Newark, NJ. Jay founded Agilis in 2017 after an illustrious career of 20 years with BASF, Shell Chemicals, and Hexion Specialty Chemicals where he held multiple positions in product management, pricing management, and leadership roles in sales, marketing, and business management. Jay is passionate about using technology to solve business problems. At Agilis, he is leveraging his experience in the global chemical industry to solve the industry’s most persistent challenges: lack of efficiency and transparency resulting from highly complex portfolios and fragmented supply chains. Christophe Carbarry is the Founder & CEO of SpecialChem. After more than two decades of full dedication to developing the world’s leading Material Selection Platform, Christophe has become one of the prominent thought leaders on the digitalization of the chemical industry. Before launching SpecialChem, he held various positions in sales, marketing, business development, and purchasing over his eight years with Elf Atochem (now Arkema), both in France and in Germany. Christophe holds a Master Degree from the Ecole Centrale de Paris and an MBA from the Toulouse Business School.
Dan Futter is the Chief Commercial Officer for Dow. Through his leadership on Customer Experience and Marketing/Sales disciplines, Dow is on track to become the most customer-centric material science company in the world. He was program lead for the design, development and launch of the company’s groundbreaking Dow.com e-commerce platform and is passionate about the role digital technology plays in transforming customer journeys.
Starting with Exxon Chemical, Dan’s career spans 33 years in the materials industry with heavy focus on leading change and transformation in customer-facing roles. Prior to his current position at Dow, Dan led the commercial organization for Dow Corning, where he pioneered their e-commerce platform and was responsible for the integration of Dow Corning’s commercial activities into Dow/DuPont and subsequent stand-up of Dow.
Dan serves on the Executive Committee and is Chair of the Medals Committee of the Society of Chemical Industry America. Founded in 1894, SCI America is dedicated to advancing excellence in the chemical industry through celebrating achievements of scientists and industry leaders in the chemical sciences. Dan also serves on the Executive Advisory Board of Michigan State University’s (MSU) Axia Institute. Axia is part of MSU’s Office of Research & Innovation and partners with industry to solve grand challenges and conduct cross-disciplinary research in value chains. As of January 2022, Dan has served on the DowAksa Board of Directors as Chairman of the Board. Dan holds a B Sc Hons in Biochemistry with Biotechnology from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom and resides in Midland, Michigan.
Patrick Haineault, based in Toronto, Ontario has been the President Care Brenntag Specialties since January 1st, 2021. He joined Brenntag Canada from the Canada Colour and Chemicals acquisition in 2018 and took the position of VP Commercial with responsibilities for integration management office as well as overall Executive in charge for Product Management, Operations, Health and Safety, Regulatory and Plastics.
During his tenure as President of Canada Colour and Chemicals, Patrick would be remembered to have steered the company to significantly market share increases in speciality business and completed full redesign of the organisation with a successful go to market strategy to accelerate sustainable growth.
Prior to joining Canada Colours and Chemicals, Patrick had been working for Shell Chemicals and Shell Project and Technology for over 16 years. An international career that started with Shell Chemicals in the mid-90’s in Calgary, with subsequent sales, marketing and strategy assignments in Toronto, Canada, Atlanta, Georgia, and The Hague, Netherland.
Patrick has a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Marketing from École des Hautes Études Commerciales (H.E.C), Montréal, Québec, Canada. He was the chairman of Responsible Distribution Canada (RDC) from 2017-2019.
